Bonbon Atelier N. Limmen has stood for craftsmanship, tradition, flavor, and experience for over 40 years.
Our story begins on October 1, 1981, in the heart of Amsterdam, where founder Nico Limmen opened an atelier specializing in an exclusive selection of handmade bonbons and chocolate gifts. He quickly gained a reputation as a skilled artisan, and his creations became beloved by patisseries, restaurants, and hotels throughout the Netherlands.
In 1996, his son René Limmen took over the family business. With the same passion and artisanal dedication, he expanded the atelier into a nationally renowned company – known for refinement, quality, and exclusivity. Today, the next generation of the Limmen family is also actively involved: sons Kenn and Mike can be found in the atelier every day, continuing the family tradition together with René and his wife IJda.
Today, we work with a close-knit team of passionate chocolatiers in our modern “chocolate workshop” in Assendelft. Here, we blend tradition with creativity, creating delightful seasonal chocolate collections made from carefully selected ingredients. Bonbon-Atelier N. Limmen is more than just an atelier – it is a true family business, where craftsmanship, love for the trade, and the joy of sharing chocolate have been at the heart of everything we do for generations.
